What DEGEN Mode Is
DEGEN mode is the momentum-first signal track in V23's ZHC framework. Where SNIPER signals require structural confirmation across multiple timeframes, DEGEN signals prioritize momentum detection on the 15m and 30m timeframes. When EMA 7 crosses EMA 21 with volume expansion and a minimum ZHC score of 6/12 (lower than the 8/12 SNIPER threshold), the engine fires a DEGEN signal.
The lower conviction threshold is intentional โ DEGEN signals are designed to catch fast-moving momentum opportunities that may not develop the full multi-timeframe alignment a SNIPER requires. The trade-off is a higher false-positive rate, which is why DEGEN signals have tighter stop levels and smaller typical R-multiples on TP1.
DEGEN vs SNIPER: Risk Profile Comparison
Degen Pro vs Degen Den
The DEGEN signal framework has two channel tiers: Degen Pro (paid, $69/month) receives the full signal package โ entry card, update cards during the trade, and exit card when the trade resolves. Degen Den (free, @V23DegenFree) receives the entry card only โ no updates, no exit notification. The entry card alone is the educational data point; the update and exit cards are the ongoing lifecycle management that Degen Pro subscribers receive.
An important routing rule: 1H DEGEN signals route to Degen Pro only โ not Degen Den. The 1H DEGEN signals are higher conviction and longer hold, not suited to the free community channel. Only 15m and 30m DEGEN entries route to Degen Den.
Risk Management in DEGEN Mode
Because DEGEN signals have a higher false-positive rate than SNIPER signals, position sizing is the primary protective mechanism. A standard position sizing rule for DEGEN signals: 0.5R per DEGEN entry (half the normal per-trade risk). This means a string of 4 consecutive DEGEN losses equals 2R โ manageable. A string of 4 SNIPER losses at 1R each also equals 4R โ more significant but still recoverable from a $10,000 account.
